The Story Behind “Lillian”

The Story Behind “Lillian”

Before Silver Springs Apothecary became a brand, there was Lillian.

Lillian was the very first perfume oil I ever created. Named after my service animal, Lilly, who spent 12 beautiful years by my side. She was there through some of the hardest, most transformative, and most meaningful seasons of my life. More than a companion, she was comfort, grounding, safety, and unconditional love in physical form.

Creating this fragrance became a way to honor her.

I wanted Lillian to feel soft, comforting, feminine, and nostalgic; the kind of scent that lingers gently and feels familiar in the way love does. Every note was chosen with intention, inspired by warmth, tenderness, and the quiet magic of the bond we shared.

In many ways, Lillian became the emotional foundation of Silver Springs Apothecary.

When I first began blending oils, I wasn’t simply trying to make perfume. I was trying to bottle emotion, memory, comfort, and ritual. Lillian taught me that scent can hold meaning far beyond fragrance alone — it can become deeply tied to memory, healing, and connection.

Even now, every time I see the bottle, I think about the years she spent beside me through chronic illness, life changes, creative dreams, and quiet everyday moments. She was present for all of it.

Lillian is more than a perfume oil.

It is love preserved in ritual form.
